The consultation on the Airspace Change Proposal for Doncaster Sheffield Airport attracted 1,894 online responses, along with more than a dozen postal responses.
Five face-to-face consultation events also drew 423 people.
The consultation closed on 4 October. The airport team will now analyse the responses and use the feedback to help shape the next stage of the Airspace Change Proposal.
A decision from the Civil Aviation Authority is currently expected in spring 2027.
The airport team stressed that the consultation finishing does not mean the proposed airspace has been approved.
Reopening preparations continue separately, including three new specialist airport fire engines, recruitment for the airport fire and rescue service, and work across the airport site.
The comeback still has some important checks to clear before take-off.
