Rotherham United Women FC has unveiled a £9.5m early-stage vision which could bring football back to Millmoor.
The club says its proposals include a new 2,000-capacity stadium with a 3G pitch, alongside a national centre of excellence for girls' and women's football. Padel courts, health and fitness facilities and space for community and other sports are also being explored.
The plans follow discussions with Millmoor owner the Ron Hull Group and meetings with representatives of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
The club stresses that the scheme is not yet agreed. No final development or funding deal is in place and any project would require feasibility work, planning permission and other approvals. A public consultation is due to run from 26 October to 9 November.
