The Willows School announces death of headteacher Rachael Booth

The Willows School in Thurcroft has announced that its headteacher, Rachael Booth, has died.

In a message to families, Nexus Multi Academy Trust chief executive Warren Carratt said staff had fought to resuscitate Mrs Booth the previous week, allowing her family and friends to be with her during her final days.

The school described her as an energetic, compassionate and inspirational headteacher who had made a significant difference to children and families during a career in public service.

The Willows will remain closed for the rest of the week while staff come to terms with the news. It is due to reopen to pupils on Monday 2 November, with staff planning personalised support for children when they return.
