A small number of water outlets at a housing complex in Rotherham were still returning positive tests for legionella, with further investigative work continuing, a full meeting of Rotherham Council has heard.
The issue was raised at the meeting by Councillor Benjamin Ball, who said the problem had been ongoing since June 2024.
Rotherham Council said residents had been informed and that there was not considered to be an ongoing risk to them.
Legionella is the bacteria which can cause Legionnaires' disease. The public information available does not establish that residents at the complex currently have Legionnaires' disease.
The housing complex and landlord were also not identified in the council's published response.
There has not yet been a more recent public council update confirming that all outlets are now clear, so the matter remains one to watch closely.
