Enquiries conducted have led to officers confirming that the collision occurred at 1.29am rather than 1.09am, South Yorkshire Police say.
At 1.29am on Sunday 25 October, police were called to reports of a single vehicle collision on Penny Hill Lane in the Thurcroft area. It is reported that a black Volkswagen Passat was travelling on Penny Hill Lane towards Thurcroft when it came off the road and collided with a telegraph pole.
A 22-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers.
Three people were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have since been released on bail.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle before the collision, or the collision itself, to come forward. You can pass information on by either calling 101 or through the online reporting system, quoting incident number 100 of 25 October 2026.
