Smithies household waste recycling centre will remain closed until around mid-November, Barnsley Council has said.
The closure has been extended because drainage improvement works at the site took longer than expected.
While the work continues, Barnsley Council is asking residents to use alternative recycling centres.
To help with demand during the Smithies closure, Worsbrough Household Waste Recycling Centre will remain open until 5pm.
Anyone who normally uses Smithies will need to plan an alternative trip for a little longer.
